description:
directionality is a stereo tape piece centered on the concept of gesture. The foundation of the piece was created using field recordings collected during various modes of transportation including planes, trains, in cars, and walking. These recordings were then heavily digitally processed and transformed to exaggerate the inherent sonic gestures of these environments. By superimposing and collaging the processed and raw recordings with digital sounds, a hyperreal and placeless aural landscape is created.
