Chimera (2024)

Chimera is a fragmented, kaliadeascopic construction of past, present, and future identities. Using various AI models, I iteratively resynthesized my old personal compositions. Additionally, other models were used to create novel song, speech, or other sounds within a similar given framework. The results of these experiments provided the fundamental sonic material to begin constructing the work.

In counterpoint to this “artificial” material, various improvisations were performed and layered. These various streams of musical consciousness were then further adapted and bridged together through a spatialised setting. The result is a sonic environment that blurs real and artificial, temporal and timeless, present and imagined.
