of wires and veins explores a sonic landscape of digital flora. The project draws from the Plaintoid initiative, in which robotic plants are programed to autonomously grow, adapt, report, and change their environment. The piece consists of the musicians, live electronics, and fixed electronics. The electronic sounds were created through extensive foley and field recordings and improvisations on various electronic instrument systems. These systems included no-input mixing, modular systems, and broken electronic equipment. Altogether, the musicians, live electronics, and pre recorded sounds create a digitally coupled, extended, and fragmented reflection of our natural world.
