premiered at SPLICE 2022 by Dana Jessen

knot was composed in collaboration with bassoonist Dana Jessen. As an avid improviser, she provided various musical gestures and instrumental approaches that I structured the piece around. The final composition sits somewhere in-between strict piece and structured improvisation that interacts with the live-electronics. Overall, I aimed to create an ambiguous musical atmosphere that blends genres of drone metal, ambient, and noise.
